The MDZ Academy is located in Mar de Cristal, a small coastal holiday community in the region of Murcia, close to the ancient port of Cartagena and the geographical phenomenon known as La Manga del Mar Menor ‐ ‘the sleeve of the small sea’.

The Club

The MDZ Academy can be found at the Tennis and Padel Club of Mar de Cristal. The club has 4 tennis courts, 8 padel tennis courts, a swimming pool, restaurant, bar, gym and changing rooms.

In addition, and when necessary, the Academy has access to more courts and facilities at nearby La Manga Club ‐ especially useful for clay court training and exhibition matches.

Mar de Cristal

Situated on the Mar Menor (Europe's largest natural coastal lagoon), Mar de Cristal offers one of the warmest and gentlest of climates. Tropical temperatures mean summer heights of 30°C and an annual average of 18°C.

Even in winter it is not unusual to see heights of 21°C which ‐ together with only moderate rainfall (on average 8 days of rain a year), make Mar de Cristal the perfect destination all year round.

Nearest airports are Murcia San Javier (25 mins drive) and Alicante (75 mins drive). EasyJet offers frequent flights to both airports from the UK. Flight time is around 2 hours and 15 minutes.

La Manga del Mar Menor

La Manga is a 21km stretch of land, ranging at points from 100m in width to 1200m at its widest point. This narrow band of sandy beaches, apartments, hotels, villas and shops, separates the mainland of the Iberian peninsula from the Mediterranean sea.

Cartagena

This ancient city, with its Roman theatre and naval militia, was founded around 227 BC and originally named Carthage after its larger and earlier namesake. It has been the centre of Spain's naval power since the 18th Century.

Today, Cartagena is an emerging cultural destination with its ancient landmarks, shopping and many excellent restaurants. It is located just 18‐20 minutes by car from Mar de Cristal.
